Local, and personal

I'm Tom Patel, a web developer based in Colwyn Bay. I've been writing code for a long time, and Derivative Media is where I now put it to work for businesses, councils and community groups across North Wales.

I'm building the business one local project at a time, starting with the Llansannan Community Council website. If you'd like to be one of the next, I'd be glad to hear from you.

How I work

I write every website by hand rather than starting from a template. It takes more care, but the result is faster, easier to find on Google and built around how your business actually works.

I care about the details most people never see: how quickly a page appears on a phone with one bar of signal, whether a screen reader can make sense of it, and whether Google can tell exactly what you do and where.
